CIVILIZATION DAWNED ON US (FOR AFRICANS) [VERSE I ‘1’]

CIVI'LIE'ZATION DAWNED ON US

My forefathers had no grave
Neither did yours had a tomb
We would have sought their sights
When civilization dawned on us
To see beyond the alps
Planted before our eyes

There were no journals
Or diaries left for us to peruse
We would have haste to them
When civilization dawned on us
Maybe their philosophy and wisdom
Could heal our ignorance

No teacher or learned scholar
Did among them rise
We would have probed their school of thoughts
When civilization dawned on us
Perhaps, a deluge of our questions
Their answers could have solved

They had no knowledge
Of meditation and astral projection
We would have unsealed our third eye
When civilization dawned on us
So, to see yonder shadows
For our brains to be illuminated

Had they but calculations
Of mathematics and physics?
We would have applied 'Almighty formula'
When civilization dawned on us
As a means to find truth
To the mysteries rooted in our hearts.

By El-cypher.
