Falling each time into the pitfalls of our own might

If we succumb to praises,
Encomiums and flatteries,
Those which we are or worth not.
I ask, what more bequests us do
Than seeing ourselves as gods
Upon which we are more vulnerable,
Falling each time into the pitfalls of our own might.
